Why Facilitation?

You might be asking yourself, "What makes Barbara Scott a good facilitator?" Great question. I've asked myself the same question, only I said "me" instead of "Barbara Scott". Well, I first got the idea I would like it because I work at MK Facilitations and have been watching Maria Kliavkoff facilitate for years. I knew that I could talk and explain and teach since I was a teacher for 10 years. I really liked teaching; I liked seeing those little faces light up when they finally grasped a concept. So I thought, would facilitation be anything like teaching?

There are similarities between teaching and facilitation. Teaching means instructing and imparting wisdom upon others. Facilitation is guiding and walking with someone through their issues until they come to their own realizations. For me, facilitation is a natural progression from teaching. I've learned that I don't have all the answers. Actually, I've always known that. But, I've also been discovering that when I listen in to that which is outside of me, intuition speaks to me and is very accurate. I wondered what I should do with this intuition and the love and compassion I have for others. Originally I took that love and compassion and put it into teaching. Now listening in to my intuition I hear that I should take the path of facilitation.

Now I'm on my path to becoming a facilitator. At first I was scared. What if my intuition was wrong? What if I'm no good at it? What if I don't like it? My first step was to listen to my intuition and take the facilitator training course with MK Facilitations. Maria Kliavkoff, creator of MK Facilitations, has been a great inspiration for me and I admire her as a facilitator very much. It seemed only logical to take the course that she was facilitating. As the first day of the course neared I found myself getting excited. What was in store for me on my journey? Finally the big day arrived. The information that I was given, watching Maria facilitate, being a part of the group taking the course, I was overcome with joy. This is it! This is my path!

So now I am a facilitator-in-training. That sounds so great. I am on the road to becoming the facilitator I want to be. I hope that you will join me on my journey of discovery, follow me on my blog, contact me for a private facilitation session. I'm so excited to talk with you. I love my new life journey.

Infinite Possibilities,

Barbara Scott
